RBs to Start in Week 9
Redskins’ Adrian Peterson (vs. Falcons): It seems like Adrian Peterson’s career has been rejuvenated on the Washington Redskins. Peterson is coming off his best performance of the year, scoring 26.6 points in Week 8. This week, he faces the Falcons, who allow an average of 32.1 points to RBs per game (second most in NFL). This also makes Chris Thompson a viable play as well.
Texans’ Lamar Miller (vs. Broncos): Lamar Miller finally came to play in Week 8, with his best outing of the year. He rushed for 133 yards on his way to a 19.3 point performance. Hopefully he can continue his success in Week 9. Miller faces the Denver Broncos, who are one of three teams to allow 1,000 yards or more this season to RBs.
Browns’ Nick Chubb (vs. Chiefs): Nick Chubb will be the Cleveland Browns workhorse RB the rest of the season. Chubb has gotten 36 carries since Week 6 (when Carlos Hyde was traded). The Kansas City Chiefs allow the third most points to opposing RBs this season, while also allowing 5.3 yards per carry.
Other RBs I Like: Vikings’ Latavius Murray or Dalvin Cook (vs. Lions), Jets’ Isaiah Crowell (vs. Dolphins), Bears’ Tarik Cohen (vs. Bills)
RBs to Sit in Week 9
Bills’ LeSean McCoy (vs. Bears): LeSean McCoy had his best performance of the season in Week 8. McCoy totaled 15.5 fantasy points, which might be close to his ceiling on a Bills team that lacks offensive firepower. This week he’ll likely fall under 10 points again, as he faces the Chicago Bears. The Bears have yet to allow a rushing touchdown this season.
Ravens’ Alex Collins (vs. Steelers): Alex Collins can’t seem to get a steady workload. The Baltimore Ravens just traded for Ty Montgomery, obviously making it likely that Collins will give up touches to Javorius Allen and Montgomery. Plus, he faces the Pittsburgh Steelers, who allow the second least amount of points to RBs this year.
