TEs to Start in Week 9
Buccaneers’ O.J. Howard (vs. Panthers): O.J. Howard has become one of the more consistent options at TE in fantasy, which is hard to find. Howard is the seventh highest scoring TE this season, scoring 11 or more points in the last three weeks. He faces a Panthers defense that is allowing 19.2 points per game to TEs this season.
Browns’ David Njoku (vs. Chiefs): David Njoku is also a TE who has become a must play TE at this point. Njoku surprisingly had zero points last week, against a Steelers defense that has struggled to stop TEs. I believe he will get back on track in Week 9, as he takes on the Chiefs. The Chiefs allow the fifth most points to TEs this year.
TEs to Sit in Week 9
Bills’ Charles Clay (vs. Bears): I want no parts of the Bills offense this season. Charles Clay is included in that, especially with the horrific QB situation in Buffalo. Clay has failed to score more than seven points this year. I think that continues, as the Bills have allowed just 22 receptions all year to opposing TEs.
Chargers’ Antonio Gates (vs. Seahawks): It’s hard to play Antonio Gates at this point of his career. This season, he is rarely featured in the offense, catching just 12 passes this year. He also has a less-than stellar match up this week. The Seattle Seahawks allow just 8.1 points per game to TEs this year.
