Fantasy Football: Skyler’s Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em for Week 1

USA TODAY Sports

TEs to start in Week 1:

Titans’ Delanie Walker (vs. Dolphins): Delanie Walker has always been an underrated TE. Walker was the fourth-highest scoring TE last year and comes into this year ready to repeat that success. The Titans don’t have standout WRs, so Walker should get a ton of targets. The Dolphins allowed the most points to opposing TEs last season.

Colts’ Jack Doyle (vs. Bengals): Jack Doyle should see a bigger role with Andrew Luck back. Doyle finished out last year as the seventh highest scoring TE. With the Bengals losing a couple of guys in the secondary, the Indianapolis Colts could attack the Bengals through the air. The Bengals allowed the 10th most points to TEs last year.

TEs to sit in Week 1

Buccaneers’ Cameron Brate (vs. Saints)Cameron Brate could see a reduced role this season. Brate completed last season as the 10th highest scoring TE. He could see second-year pro O.J Howard take his starting spot at some point this season. It also doesn’t help he has Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing him the ball to begin the season. The Saints allowed the second least amount of points to TEs last year.

Bills’ Charles Clay (vs. Ravens): Charles Clay will likely struggle to be a top 10-15 TE this season. The QB play of the Bills is what really worries me. The Bills recently named Nathan Peterman the starter, which doesn’t give you confidence for anyone on the Bills. Ravens actually struggled against TEs last year, but don’t think matters against this Bills team.
