Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers saw their 2021 NFL season end in heartbreaking fashion once again. In their first playoff game after winning the NFC’s No. 1 seed, they fell at home against the underdog San Francisco 49ers. Now, the focus has shifted to Rodgers’ future with the Packers once again.

Immediately following the loss, the trade rumors picked back up regarding Rodgers’ future. Many believe that he could end up either being traded this offseason or choosing to retire. Others think he’ll be back for another season with Green Bay.

In a recent quote, former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky opened up about his thoughts on the Rodgers situation. He would be “shocked” if Rodgers ended up leaving the Packers this offseason.

“I just think Aaron understands and believes the best path, or the most likely path for a Super Bowl is to stay right where he is.”

Just like last season, Rodgers put together an MVP-caliber year for the Packers in 2021. In fact, many believe he will end up winning the award for the second straight year.

When everything was said and done, Rodgers completed 68.9 percent of his pass attempts for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also picked up 101 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Green Bay would be smart to do whatever they can to keep him around another year or two.

The main issue comes down to what kind of moves the Packers will have to make this offseason. They are extremely strapped for cash right now and could end up having to release talent like Za’Darius Smith. If they are forced to go that route, would Green Bay even be a legitimate Super Bowl contender next season?

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Aaron Rodgers. The Packers have some decisions to make this offseason, but Orlovsky at least believes the superstar quarterback will be back in town.
