Two undefeated teams are remaining in the NFL after the first three weeks of the season, one of them being the Miami Dolphins. Their path to a 3-0 record has been anything but easy, as they have earned their victories.

After thumping their AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots, in Week 1, the Dolphins needed a miraculous comeback against the Baltimore Ravens to keep their undefeated record intact. Miami trailed by 21 heading into the fourth quarter before Tua Tagovailoa led the team to four touchdowns in the final stanza. The last score to ice the game came with 14 seconds remaining on the clock.

Week 3 is when many people thought that the Dolphins’ winning streak would come to an end. They were hosting the Buffalo Bills, the odds on favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. What was expected to be a shootout lived up to the billing in the first half, as the teams went into the locker room tied at 14.

The second half was anything but a shootout as it turned into a defensive slugfest. The score in the second half was 7-5 as the Dolphins came away victorious in their stiffest test of the season thus far.

Many people’s opinions of the Dolphins are shifting after three games. The question marks that were surrounding Tagovailoa being able to take advantage of the weapons around him have been quieted as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have both been excellent.

Sporting an explosive offense with an improving defense, Miami is on the rise. But, have they reached contender status? One NFL analyst certainly thinks so. On a recent episode of Get Up on ESPN, former quarterback Robert Griffin III shared that he believes the Dolphins are the best team in the league.

The Dolphins can certainly stake a claim to being the best team in the NFL with the start that they have gotten off to. We will learn a lot about them in Week 4 as they will be heading on the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football.

We have seen TNF get the best of elite teams previously as a short week is tough to navigate. But, if the Dolphins want to prove that they are the best team in the league, as Griffin believes they are, this is a good measuring stick game for them to prove their worth against a Bengals team coming off their first victory of the season over the New York Jets in Week 3.
