Daniel Jones is heading into his second season with the New York Giants and his first full year as the starting quarterback. After being selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Giants’ young quarterback received a ton of criticism. Many thought Dwayne Haskins should have been drafted over him.
However, shortly into the season, Jones took over the starting job from Eli Manning. Not only did he earn the starting job, he showed signs of being a true franchise quarterback.
During the 2019 season with the Giants, Jones completed 61.9 percent of his pass attempts for 3,027 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He did have an issue with fumbles, fumbling 12 times on the year. Jones has put in a lot of work this offseason and the Giants are expecting a big step forward.
There is no question that the Giants feel good about their decision to take Jones. He looked much more ready for the NFL level of play than Haskins did. But, the second season in a young quarterback’s career is important.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for Daniel Jones in his first game of his second season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
