Giants: 3 Reasons Why New York Should Consider Signing Sam Bradford

USA TODAY Sports

Bradford is Very Accurate

One aspect of his game that everyone has always raved about with Bradford, is his uncanny accuracy with the football. In his first four years in the league, his completion percentage wasn’t great.

In his last four years though, he’s averaged a 68.4 completion percentage. That is better than Manning’s mark of a 63.9 completion percentage in the last four seasons.

This year, Manning has continually thrown errant throws. The offensive line hasn’t played up to par, but even when he does have time in the pocket, he’s incapable of making simple throws.

His immobility in the pocket also hurts him, even though Bradford isn’t very mobile in comparison. The thing is though, Bradford can get the ball out quickly and accurately.

The Giants have an offensive line that isn’t the best, which Bradford is used to in his career. In 2016, where Bradford started in 15 games for the Minnesota Vikings, he had just 2.48 seconds to throw (fifth least in the NFL).

That season, he put up 3,877 yards, 20 touchdowns and just five interceptions. His completion percentage was also at an impressive 71.6%,, which was a NFL record at the time.

Last year, Drew Brees beat that, by completing 72% of his passes. This season, Brees will likely smash his own record, with him completing a remarkable 77.4% of his passes through eight weeks.

The Giants should take a look at Bradford, who is capable of getting the ball out quick to guys like Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham.
