Daniel Jones Leads the NFC East in Passing Touchdowns
While most of the praise goes to Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott when discussing the quarterbacks of the NFC East, Daniel Jones could assert himself as a prestigious QB this season, too.
The Giants are loaded at receiver with Darius Slayton, Golden Tate, and Sterling Shepard are all capable of pulling off big games. New York also has more than just a deep receiving core. Evan Engram, when healthy is a playmaking tight end. Saquon Barkley is a fantastic receiving back and even Dion Lewis could be in for some touches out of the backfield.
It’s clear Jones throws the ball with great touch–something many young QBs struggle with. Additionally, he can put some zip on the ball when he needs to. His situational awareness is one thing caught scouts eyes in college. It seems the transition to the NFL has been smooth to this point. This should all be on display in 2020.
Next season, Jones could be in for a big year. For a rookie, he did very well last season. However, at no point in the season did Jones have Barkley, Engram, Shepard, Slayton, and Tate all healthy. The improvements to the offensive line will also allow Jones to have more time to throw.
When putting all of the pieces together, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Jones to end up leading the NFC East in passing touchdowns during the 2020 season.
