No. 4: Giants Offense Failed to Take Advantage of Opportunities

Manning had a couple of chances to hit wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for touchdowns, but missed the mark on those opportunities. In the second quarter with 11 seconds left before halftime, the Jaguars sent an all-out blitz, while Beckham was being covered in man coverage.

Manning overthrew the pass to OBJ, forcing the Giants to settle for a field goal. That play could have changed the momentum of the game going forward.

Instead, the Giants had their momentum killed by their offense. Against a Jaguars defense, you have to take advantage of every opportunity you get. The Giants offense failed to do so. In the first quarter, cornerback Janoris Jenkins was able to set up the Giants offense with a short field with an interception. The Giants were only able to come out with a field goal out of it.

Those are opportunities you have to take advantage of when you face a team like Jaguars, who were in the AFC Championship just last year. The game was definitely there for the Giants to take, but they were unable to execute in key situations.

Hopefully the Giants can head into next week and improve on their offensive execution.
