Round 2, Pick 57: Van Jefferson (WR, Florida)

Grade: B+

Besides Gurley, the Rams also parted ways with Brandin Cooks this offseason, trading him to the Houston Texans. Upon Cooks’ departure, Los Angeles didn’t waste any time adding another wide receiver to the roster.

With the No. 57 pick of the draft, the Rams decided to take Van Jefferson out of Florida. Similar to Akers, the wide receiver position isn’t necessarily a need for Los Angeles, already having Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Josh Reynolds filling out the receiving corps.

However, unlike running back, the Rams have to look forward to the future, with Kupp and Reynolds set to become free agents in 2021. As for Van Jefferson, he’s a pristine route runner that can create space from his defenders with ease. While he isn’t the speedster that Cooks was, Jefferson gives Jared Goff another reliable pass-catcher in the offense.
