Round 6, Pick 199: Jordan Fuller (S, Ohio State)

Grade: C+

After selecting Burgess in the third round, the Rams decided to select another defensive back in the sixth round. With the No. 199 pick of the draft, Los Angeles added Jordan Fuller, a safety out of Ohio State.

Unlike Burgess, Fuller likely isn’t going to bring much to Los Angeles’ defense in his first season with the team. Nonetheless, Fuller will likely be utilized on special teams, similar to what Nick Scott was for the Rams in 2019. Scott was Los Angeles’ seventh-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

In the later rounds of the draft, teams around the NFL are typically looking for guys to fill out the roster and that can provide depth at certain positions. Following the departure of Marqui Christian, the Rams are definitely making sure they have as many bodies at the safety position as possible.
