Green Bay Packers: 3 Biggest Concerns Following Week 3 Loss vs. Redskins

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Green Bay’s Secondary Has to Develop

There is no denying the fact that the Packers have a more talented secondary this season than they have had over the last couple of years. Brian Gutekunst made that a priority in the 2018 NFL Draft, using his first two picks on Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson. Both rookies have carved out big roles for themselves already.

That being said, the Packers need better play from their secondary. In Week 3, there were too many blown plays, too many missed tackles, and too many costly penalties.

Mike Pettine and company have to figure out a way to get more from their defensive backfield. More playmaking would be nice, but simply making things more difficult on opposing offenses is a necessity.

Green Bay has the talent, now it is time to put that talent to work out on the field.
