Green Bay Packers: 3 Players Who Must Step Up in Order to Make a Playoff Run

USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Jones, Running Back

Finally, and very possibly most important, Aaron Jones needs to continue rising to the occasion for the Packers. Since the Ty Montgomery trade, Jones has been the lead running back. There is no question anymore about which player Mike McCarthy is going to give the majority of the carries to.

Last week against the Miami Dolphins, Jones carried the football 15 times for 145 times and two touchdowns. On the season, Jones has rushed for 494 yards and four touchdowns.

Green Bay needs the ground game to be consistent to take pressure off of Rodgers. His emergence has also helped the Packers pick up consistently solid yardage on first down. That will be extremely important moving forward.

If Jones can continue being a 100-yard back each week, the Packers’ offense is going to be very difficult to watch.
