As the Green Bay Packers prepare for a huge Week 11 game on Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks, many fans and media members have already marked them off as a playoff team. After defeating the Miami Dolphins 31-12, the Packers now have a 4-4-1 record this season. That record may not look pretty, but they still have a chance to make a run to close the season.
Despite the slow start that the Packers had this season, Aaron Rodgers cannot be counted out. He has shown the ability to make major runs to close a season in the past and has the chance to do so again.
Mike McCarthy is without question on the hot seat this season. If the Packers were to miss the playoffs, it would seem likely that Green Bay would consider making a change.
Even with all of the added pressure, the Packers are a team to watch in the NFC. Over the past three weeks, the Packers have been showing a much-improved version of themselves. They lost to the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams, but still played and competed against those quality teams.
All of that being said, what five reasons can be given to support the statement that the Packers will still make the playoffs despite the odds being stacked against them?
