Tee Higgins, Packers

If there is one thing the Green Bay Packers really need, it is an elite wide receiver to pair with young quarterback Jordan Love.

Could Cincinnati Bengals wide out Tee Higgins be that guy?

The Bengals have gotten off to a rough start this season, dropping their first two games. While they entered 2023 with Super Bowl aspirations, Cincinnati could ultimately consider moving Higgins ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline if things continue going south.

Cincy failed to reach a long-term agreement with Higgins before the season, and Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer recently reported that Higgins does not figure into the club’s future plans.

The 24-year-old is set to be a free agent in the spring, so if the Bengals fall out of contention, the chances of them trading him to recoup some value could be fairly high.

Should Cincinnati place Higgins on the trade block, the Packers should absolutely inquire about his services, and Vincent Frank of SportsNaut mentions Green Bay as a potential destination for the star.

Higgins, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was selected by the Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

It did not take long for Higgins to make an impact, as he caught 67 passes for 908 yards and six touchdowns during his rookie campaign. The following year, Higgins hauled in 74 receptions for 1,091 yards and six scores, helping Cincy make a Super Bowl appearance. Then, in 2022, Higgins posted very similar numbers to the prior season, finishing with 74 grabs for 1,029 yards while reaching the end zone seven times.

Through two games in 2023, the Oak Ridge, Tn. native has logged eight catches for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Packers have gotten off to a 1-1 start this season, and in the winnable NFC North division, they could look to make a big splash at the deadline to improve their roster. Tee Higgins would be a fine addition, to say the least.
