The Green Bay Packers have gotten major injury updates on two offensive stars heading into their pivotal Week 14 matchup with the New York Giants on Monday night.

The Packers will be without wide receiver Christian Watson, who is battling a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, running back Aaron Jones is questionable due to a knee issue.

Head coach Matt LaFleur is obviously disappointed that Watson will not be available, but he is confident that his other receivers will step up.

“Christian’s a big part of our offense, and he’s really hit his groove,” LaFleur said on Saturday, via Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers’ official team website. “He made so many great plays the last few weeks, but I feel good about the other guys. I think they’ve really developed and got a lot of guys we can move in different spots to help pick up for that loss.”

Watson logged seven catches for 71 yards and a couple of touchdowns in Green Bay’s thrilling victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend. On the season overall, the second-year wide out has caught 28 passes for 422 yards and five scores in nine games. He has dealt with nagging injury issues all season long.

Meanwhile, Jones has not played since Nov. 19 as a result of his respective injury.

Like Watson, Jones has been dealing with injuries throughout the entire 2023 campaign and has been limited to just seven games.

During his time on the field this year, Jones has rushed for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns while averaging just 3.7 yards per carry in what has been, by far, the least productive season of his seven-year NFL career.

The Packers have won three games in a row to improve to 6-6 and miraculously work their way back into the NFC playoff picture. After playing the Giants, they will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears to close out the regular season.
