Green Bay Packers: 3 Keys to Victory vs. the Minnesota Vikings

Keep Aaron Rodgers Upright

Rodgers won’t be able to enact his vengeance if he can’t throw the ball. The first key to success is going to be for the offensive line to give him time. The Vikings have a nasty pass rush and without quality offensive line play, could easily drastically influence this game.

Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen are just two of the many names on this defense that can be impactful rushing the passer. Left tackle David Bakhtiari and right tackle Bryan Bulaga will need to be at their best. Bulaga struggled mightily in the first half against Khalil Mack this past Sunday. But, once he got settled in, he thrived and the offense along with him.

I thought we would see some assistance from ancillary personnel such as Marcedes Lewis, Lance Kendricks, and Jamal Williams to assist in the blocking on the edges. But, we really didn’t. I fully expect there to be more pass protection sets from the names listed above. Rodgers’ mobility won’t be at it’s highest ability and he will need time for his receivers to get open.
