Stud: WR J’Mon Moore
The third rookie to make this list, fourth-round pick J’Mon Moore, finally showed up for this Packers offense.
After struggling with drops in the first two preseason games and during training camp, doubters were beginning to emerge. Fans were beginning to wonder if he would shake the drops that plagued and tarnished his college career. Moore took big steps in the right direction when he faced the Oakland secondary.
The entire team has been rallying around Moore to get right. After a simple in-route, Moore caught the ball and Hundley was visually pumped up, electrifying the rest of the offense for a scoring drive. But, Moore just remained calm. He ended the night with four catches for 62 yards. The most exciting catch was one where Moore had beat his man defender to secure a catch before being lit-up by an incoming safety. It was the type of catches that Moore had been unable to make earlier in the preseason.
I don’t believe that his “drop-itis” has been cured, however, he now has the building blocks to gain confidence and fulfill the potential that the coaching staff and fans have seen.
