The Green Bay Packers could find themselves in need of a safety if Darnell Savage walks via free agency this offseason, and Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department sees the perfect trade target for the club.

Baker was a trade candidate back at the Oct. 31 NFL deadline, but the Cardinals ultimately chose to hold on to him. However, he remains a potential trade piece going into the offseason.

But why would Arizona move Baker?

Well, Baker is entering the final year of his deal, and with the Cardinals appearing headed for some sort of rebuild, they may not be able to re-sign him next offseason.

Baker is still relatively young at 28, but he is likely going to command a hefty contract once he hits free agency, and Arizona may choose to spend its resources elsewhere.

The Packers, on the other hand, are legitimate contenders and could certainly use some assistance in their defensive backfield.

Baker played in 12 games this past season, registering 87 tackles en route to his fifth straight Pro Bowl selection.

The Bellevue, Wa. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Washington, was selected by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

It didn’t take Baker long to establish himself as one of the league’s best defensive backs, as he made the Pro Bowl and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection during his rookie campaign after finishing with 74 tackles, a sack, a couple of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and seven passes defended.

Since then, the only year Baker missed the Pro Bowl was 2018, and one can argue that he was deserving of making a trip that season, as well.

Budda Baker will likely be a hot commodity this offseason, and Green Bay may be the perfect landing spot for the superstar defender.
