Deshaun Watson, Quarterback
Despite throwing an interception for the second straight week, Deshaun Watson turned in an overall strong performance under center. He completed 22 of 32 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns while carrying five times for 44 yards.
Performances like this are what make Watson one of the scariest quarterbacks in the league. He has been compared to Cam Newton because of his dual-threat ability, which has to strike fear into opposing defenses. Watson isn’t as big as Newton, but he’s capable of doing a lot of the same things.
He’s still learning to play at the pro level, but performances like the one he turned in Sunday are why Watson has a bright future. As a result, the Texans also have a bright future, especially because they play in the wide-open AFC South.
If Houston can stop playing from behind so much, the rest of the NFL had better look out. Watson and Co. are not a team to be trifled with.
