CJ Stroud had an outstanding rookie campaign in the NFL last season, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year while assisting the Houston Texans win the AFC South. The young quarterback has now been set up to share his thoughts on some of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game.

Aaron Rodgers is highly regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of his generation, having won four NFL Most Valuable Player awards, been selected to the Pro Bowl ten times, and to the First-team All-Pro four times. He hasn’t won multiple Super Bowls, though, so not everyone believes he is one of the greatest of all time.

Stroud was given the option to select between having a career similar to Aaron Rodgers’ and that of two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning during an appearance on the MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME podcast.

Stroud made the decision to choose Manning’s career without hesitation. “You want the rings, dog. Eli got two,” Stroud remarked, defending his line of reasoning.

Though Rodgers has had a fantastic career full of honors, where he falls short in comparison to Manning is the rings. While Manning has two Super Bowl rings, the New York Jets quarterback only has one.

However, it should be mentioned that despite having two Super Bowl rings, Manning never had the same kind of individual recognition that Rodgers has had during the course of his career.

Football fans will likely remember Manning more for winning twice when the stakes were high against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to earn two Super Bowl rings, assuming Rodgers is unable to add another ring to his collection before the end of his career.

Comparing the careers of Eli Manning and Aaron Rodgers

Eli Manning will go down in history as one of only six players in NFL history to win two MVP awards in the Super Bowl. He guided the Giants to championship runs in 2007 and 2011 with his brilliant and clutch play. Many would contend, nevertheless, that a strong defense played a major role in those Super Bowl victories.

The quarterback played in the NFL for 16 years and currently ranks 10th all-time in passing touchdowns, completions, and yards. Apart from that, though, his career stats are rather underwhelming.

Manning had a 117-117 record while starting, finished as the most intercepted QB in the league three times, won no league MVP honors, and was invited to just four Pro Bowls.

To put things in perspective, Rodgers has won the NFL MVP award four times, the Super Bowl once, and the MVP award for the Super Bowl once.

Apart from the fact that Manning has two rings to Rodgers’ one, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback has an unquestionably more outstanding career.

Choosing between the two legendary athletes ultimately boils down to personal taste. In actuality, they both had lengthy careers in the league and have come to represent different forms of achievement.

It will be interesting to see what kind of career the Houston Texans’ young quarterback, CJ Stroud, has when it’s all said and done.
