The Chicago Bears appeared to have found a match with head coach Matt Nagy and quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. That season, the Bears went 12-4, and although they lost to the Eagles in embarrassing fashion, (field goals aren’t anyone’s best friend) the future seemed bright.
Then, 2019 came and the Bears offense took a step back. Chicago would go from a 12 win team to an eight win team. Trubisky touchdowns dropped from 24 touchdowns in 2018 to 17, while his passer rating dropped from 95.4 to 83.0. Too often the offense appeared stagnant, with Trubisky taking most of the blame.
The Bears added Nick Foles in the offseason alongside Jimmy Graham. Because of Trubisky’s struggles, Foles was brought in to push the spirit of competition. With new additions in tow, the Bears are set to compete in 2020.
So what can the Bears do this season to change things up? Let’s look at a few suggestions.
