The Los Angeles Rams were in the Super Bowl only two years ago. However, their offense was nowhere near as productive last season. While some of the issues were because of injuries, Los Angeles had some holes. Going into next season, the Rams will have to fix these issues if they want to compete for a Super Bowl once again.
The Rams are in the NFC West, which is now arguably the toughest division in football. As a result, there will be no easy division wins as the Rams have become accustomed to benefiting from in previous years. While the new playoff format means more teams can make the playoffs, it will still be difficult for Los Angeles.
Something to remember, the Rams have a lot of star power on defense, but have lost some key standouts within their offense since their Super Bowl run. Los Angeles now longer has Todd Gurley to set the tone in the backfield and deep-threat Brandon Cooks is now in Houston.
If the Rams are going to contend they will need the offense to play like a well-oiled machine. While the offense struggled last year, much of that was because of injury. Regardless, expect head coach Sean McVay to look at the issues the team had last year and adjust their strategy to maximize their results.
With that being said, let’s take a look at three ways the Los Angeles Rams’ offense must improve in 2020.
