If Amari Cooper walks, Breshad Perriman would be solid consolation prize for Cowboys

With the legal tampering period just hours away, the Dallas Cowboys still don’t have a deal in place for either of their prized offensive weapons, Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper.

Sources expect Dallas to franchise tag Dak and shift their focus to getting a long-term deal done for Cooper. Prescott has reportedly turned down multiple offers from the Cowboys’ front office, so tagging him at this juncture makes sense.

But, this still doesn’t mean a long-term deal is a guarantee for Cooper. It doesn’t seem like he’s seeking top tier money like Dak is so signing him shouldn’t be as difficult, but if a team throws a hefty contract his way during the tampering period, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Cooper leave town.

If this scenario comes to fruition, free agent wideout Breshad Perriman could be a solid consolation prize.
