Perriman was the Baltimore Ravens first round pick back in 2016. He never truly lived up to expectations in Baltimore, and was cut after just his second year in the NFL. He then joined the Cleveland Browns for a year before heading to Tampa Bay in 2019.
Last season was undoubtedly Perrriman’s best year as a pro. He finished with career highs in targets (69), receptions (36), receiving yards (645) and receiving touchdowns (6).
He’s always had the speed, but he finally found his hands while down in Tampa. Perriman only had one drop last season, and quarterback Jameis Winston recorded a 94.7 passer rating when throwing his way.
At 26-years-old and coming off a career year, Perriman should be on the cusp of entering his prime. He’s far from a sure thing moving forward, but he showcased that first round talent everyone thought he had last season, so there’s still reason to be optimistic with Perriman.
He isn’t the elite receiver that Cooper is, but he’d certainly be a solid deep threat for Prescott and add some much needed speed to that Cowboys offense.
