Indianapolis Colts: 3 Key Matchups to Watch vs. Redskins in Week 2

Frank Reich and the Indianapolis Colts looked like a much-improved football team in the first half of their Week 1 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. They appeared to be winning the game on both sides of the football and were a good bet to come out on top. Unfortunately, as Colts fans have come to expect, the team folded in the second half and ended up losing by a final score of 34-23.

Heading into Week 2, things aren’t going to get any easier for the Colts. Andrew Luck and company will have to face off against the Washington Redskins, who blew out the Arizona Cardinals by a final score of 24-6.

To say that this is an important game for the Colts would be an understatement. Indianapolis was hoping to get off to a quick start this season. Beating Washington would be a nice step in the right direction after the setback that the Colts feel they suffered against the Bengals.

Indianapolis seems to have their offense back on track, although Luck will have to prove consistency. Defensively, however, the Colts still have a lot of work to do. Matt Eberflus has a fast and hard-hitting defense, but they are still a bit inconsistent and allow too many big plays.

All of that being said, what three key matchups do the Colts need to focus on winning this week against the Redskins in order to give themselves a chance to move to 1-1 on the season?
