Indianapolis Colts: 3 Reasons Why Chester Rogers Will Break Out in 2018

It’s officially football season as we are well into training camp and preseason games have begun. The Indianapolis Colts have plenty to figure out during their four preseason games. They still need to figure out if Andrew Luck will be able to shake the rust off early, if the offensive line can produce, and if the young secondary can hold their ground.

Another major storyline to watch is the wide receiver battle. T.Y. Hilton is the clear number one option, but after that, every spot is up for grabs. Rookie Deon Cain was expected to play a role, but tore his ACL in the preseason opener. Ryan Grant was signed in the offseason but there hasn’t been much talk about him early on. Also in contention for reps is rookie Daurice Fountain. Then we move on to the third year receiver Chester Rogers.

Rogers has looked strong through training camp so far and is a great candidate to breakout in 2018. The Colts will need someone to step up in the receiving game and Rogers can very well be that guy. Here are three reasons why Rogers will take the next step with the Colts in 2018.
