Indianapolis Colts: 3 Reasons Why Jacoby Brissett Should be Traded This Season

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Colts Need As Much Talent As They Can Get

It’s clear how many holes the Colts have on both sides of the ball, and trading Brissett would allow them to fill some holes or acquire top draft picks.

Brissett could help the Colts reel in another second-round draft pick, or even a first rounder if a contenders quarterback goes down or if a team is that desperate. Brissett could also be included in a larger package that the Colts could use to try to get a superstar, like Khalil Mack.

Right now, the right tackle position extremely needs an upgrade as Austin Howard has flat-out struggled and Denzelle Good can’t seem to stay healthy. Braden Smith has filled in at right tackle, but the rookie is better off playing guard. Trading Brissett and immediately filling a hole such as right tackle would tremendously benefit the Colts.

If a team calls Chris Ballard and offers a first or high second round pick, the call should end in a deal. The Colts desperately need more talent on the roster and having another top pick would accelerate the rebuild in Indianapolis.
