Trade Him While His Value’s High
The last reason the Colts should trade Brissett this season is because his value is high. Sure, his value could always go up and teams could get desperate, but if he doesn’t take a snap all season and then the Colts decide to try to move him in the offseason, teams could try to use that against them and not give up as much.
Right now, Brissett’s value is high and there are a few teams who are in need of a quarterback. If the Colts pass on a good offer this season and can’t find a good enough offer before he hits free agency, they could lose him for nothing.
The Colts could end up turning former first-round bust Phillip Dorsett into a solid player that fills a need or a top draft pick by trading Brissett while his value is high.
