Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ triumphant Super Bowl victory, the Indianapolis Colts took to social media to express their anticipation for the upcoming season. While the post itself was straightforward, it garnered attention due to comments made by Michael Pittman Jr. and Anthony Richardson.

Here are what the two Colts’ offensive stars said in their posts:

For those unfamiliar, Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is poised to enter free agency for the first time in his NFL career during this offseason. While speculation abounds regarding whether the Colts will extend his contract or employ the franchise tag, the exchange between Pittman Jr. and Richardson likely reassured some fans.

During the 2023 NFL season with the Indianapolis Colts, Pittman ended up catching 109 passes for 1,152 yards and four touchdowns. He was a consistently solid presence for Shane Steichen and company.

As the Colts continue to develop young quarterback Anthony Richardson, they need to make sure he has good weapons available. Bringing Pittman back would be a big step in the right direction.

While it’s plausible that Pittman Jr. was simply showing support for the young quarterback, his interaction with Richardson hints at the possibility of a contract extension. It seems unlikely that Pittman Jr. would engage with a Colts post about the upcoming season if he didn’t intend to remain with the team.
