Indianapolis Colts: Studs and Duds From Preseason Week 2

Dud: Andrew Luck

Take this one very lightly. Luck only makes the list because of the red zone turnover and a couple instances of holding the ball too long.

Other than that, Luck did as much as he could with what he was given. He was without Robert Turbin, Marlon Mack, Anthony Castonzo, Denzelle Good, and T.Y. Hilton. He made a few nice throws, a few bad throws, and took some hits that he needed to take.

Luck got sacked by Terrell Suggs and landed the same way he landed when he initially hurt his shoulder, and didn’t have any thoughts about if his shoulder was okay.

“Didn’t feel anything, didn’t even give it a second thought,” Luck said regarding the sack after the game.

On the red zone interception, Luck simply tried to do too much. He tried to force a throw to Jack Doyle on third down and give the home crowd a touchdown instead of settling for three. It’s also important to note that the Colts regular season offense will be much different than how they’re playing in the preseason. Head coach Frank Reich has yet to unleash Eric Ebron and hasn’t shown much of what the passing game will offer when the real games begin.

Luck makes the list as a dud because of how well he played in Week 1 of preseason. He led to field goal drives against the Seahawks and the goal was to turn those drives into touchdowns, which he didn’t do.
