Blake Bortles Will Lead the Jaguars Most Wins Since 2005

I saved my boldest for last. After winning 10 games in 2017, the most in a decade, the Jaguars will take another leap and reach 12 wins in 2018. That figure hasn’t been reached since 2005, but this could be the team to do it.

Somehow the Jaguars got even better on defense, adding to their already scary defensive line and bolstering the back-end of the secondary. With upgrades at key spots throughout the offense, this Jaguars team will be tough to beat.

So where does Bortles fit into all of this? Running the ball is the name of the game for the Jaguars, but number five will need to be sharp in order to at least keep defenses honest in pass defense. Beyond his on-field performance, Bortles is a level-headed player that will help keep this young, boisterous Jaguars team grounded.

The NFL is an unforgiving game, and with windows of opportunity as small as they are, the Jaguars have to take advantage of this one before it closes. Blake Bortles’ play in 2018 will be a huge factor in determining if the Jaguars were simply a one year wonder or serious Super Bowl contenders.
