Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Players to Watch in Preseason Week 2

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Taven Bryan, Defensive Line

As previously mentioned, Bryan missed the Saints game due to an injury, but Bryan is expected to give it a go during the joint practices in Minnesota, per John Oehser of Jaguars.comHopefully, the rookie from UF will make it through without re-injuring his abdomen and make his NFL debut on Saturday. Despite being a raw athlete, Bryan was having a good camp before injuring his abdomen. Jacksonville has been cautious in easing him back into practice.

Bryan is listed ahead of second-year man Dawaune Smoot behind Calais Campbell on the first unofficial depth chart of the year. Not only is Bryan returning, but Smoot is not expected to practice in Minnesota, per John Oehser. The former Gator is presented with a huge opportunity against the Vikings. If he can perform strongly in practice as well as on Saturday, he may be putting himself in a great position for the back half of the preseason.
