No. 3: The Jaguars Defense Is Suffocating Opponents

The best defensive line in football is reason enough.

In the 2018 NFL Draft, Jacksonville found a way to enhance one of their true strong points. With the No. 29 overall pick, the Jaguars selected Taven Bryan, a stud defensive tackle out of Florida. He should be able to fit into the rotations of defensive coordinator Todd Wash.

It does bear mentioning that Bryan did not play much in the preseason with an abdominal injury. With that said, however, the Jaguars have to know what they have in him already despite his injury.

Their core defensive front of Calais Campbell, Malik Jackson, Marcell Dareus and Yannick Ngakoue is virtually unblockable for opposing offensive lines. I will admit that Dareus’ potential legal issues we learned about this summer are a cause of concern.

Nevertheless, if all goes well on this front for Jacksonville, this is another argument I should be able to successfully use for the Jaguars to win the AFC.
