There are a lot of expectations surrounding the New York Jets as they head into the 2023 season. That is what happens when you land a quarterback of the caliber of Aaron Rodgers, who should help elevate the offense to new levels.

With a hopefully improved offense, the Jets should be a very good all-around team in 2023. That is because their defense was already among one of the best in the NFL and will benefit from the offense now being able to carry their share.

With Rodgers now in the fold, linebacker C.J. Mosley is confident that the team will see a huge turnaround this upcoming season. After finishing last in the AFC East last season, he believes this team is capable of challenging for a Super Bowl.

“We have a big name in Aaron Rodgers,” Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley said recently, via the team’s official website. “And from his first day, you can kind of feel the screws and bolts tightened up with the name and weight he carries. Everyone is excited top to bottom. We all have the same mindset and excitement. We did a good job in the offseason getting ready. Now’s the time to go to work and put it together.”

The offense was the sole reason that the Jets were unable to finish the season on a high note. After starting 6-3, they ended the season losing seven of their last eight games.

It is impossible to win, even with as good of a defense as they have, when the offense cannot produce. New York went without an offensive touchdown in the final three games of the season, which ultimately doomed them.

Mosley believes the entire tenor around the team has changed with the addition of Rodgers. He brings a level of cache to the table that they were previously lacking, as the veteran linebacker believes he will change the franchise’s perception.

“When people hear New York Jets, they’re going to think losses, or now when they hear the New York Jets, they’re going to think automatic Super Bowl,” Mosley said. “We can’t think that way, we have to stay focused, we have to stay grounded and take this camp one day at a time. Each day it’s going to be a new challenge for us and each day that person has to accept that challenge and be able to take it on.” (H/T Kevin Patra of NFL.com)

While the Jets look excellent on paper, that isn’t where the game is played. They will have to hope things translate onto the field as handling expectations is something new for the franchise. But, with leaders such as Mosley in place, it will be much easier to navigate.
