Julio Jones named potential trade target for the Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are expected to search for a true No. 1 wide receiver this offseason to help Lamar Jackson. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has been good, but he would be better suited as a No. 2 target. If the Ravens opt to make a big trade for a receiver, Julio Jones could be a name to keep an eye on.

Over the last couple of years, rumors have swirled that the Atlanta Falcons could be open to trading their star wideout. Jones may not be what he once was, but he is still a capable top target.

During the 2020 season with the Falcons, Jones struggled with injury issues. He ended up catching 51 passes for 771 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers aren’t up to par with what he wanted to do and a change of scenery could help him.

Bleacher Report took a look at some realistic trades that could happen this offseason. Jones heading to the Ravens was one of them. They have him being traded to Baltimore for a first-round pick.

Should the Ravens make a move for Julio Jones, their offense would take an immediate turn for the better. Jones and Brown would be very difficult for opposing defenses to defend. Both players would be able to feed off of each other.

At 31 years old, Jones is no longer in the middle of his prime. He is in the latter stages of it. Winning now is a major priority for the veteran star.

Joining the Ravens would give Jones a fighting chance to win a Super Bowl. Jackson and company have been great regular season teams, but they have struggled in the playoffs. One of their main missing pieces has been a star wide receiver.

If the Ravens can acquire him, they would take a step forward in the AFC. John Harbaugh would have a lot more weapons to work with. This would be a good trade for both sides, as the Falcons would have another first-round pick to speed up their rebuilding process.

Expect to hear a lot of rumors surrounding Julio Jones this offseason. The Ravens may not end up getting him, but the fit seems perfect.
