New England Patriots

It is always necessary to mention the quarterback situation of the New England Patriots whenever possible. Why? Because this is the first time since 2001 that it is in question. Tom Brady is a free agent for the first time in his career and he will explore his options.

New England could be searching for Brady’s replacement for the first time since Jimmy Garoppolo. Let’s not forget that Bill Belichick did not want to trade Garoppolo. There is no question that he would like to get younger at the position.

This is where Herbert comes into play. New England is picking near the bottom of the first round so it is unlikely that Herbert falls to the Patriots. But if he does, this could be the match made in heaven that Belichick has been waiting for. If not, New England could opt to wait until the second or third round to take a different quarterback.
