Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Bold Predictions for Patrick Mahomes in 2018

He Breaks the Mold, Leads Chiefs to AFC Championship

Playoff time has been a tough time for the Chiefs. They seem to be playing in January every single year, but rarely make it past the first game. Kansas City has made the playoffs five times since the 2010 season and have only been on the winning side one time, an absolute drubbing of the Houston Texans in 2015. That game was their first first-round win in the playoffs since 1993 and they haven’t done it since.

The AFC West has become a sub-par division in the league. I can’t say if it’s a power shift in the NFL or what it is because the race at the end of the season always seems to be a fun one. I think the Chiefs walk away with the division and enter the playoffs. A first round bye in the playoffs with a divisional round win sets the Chiefs up for an AFC Championship matchup against the team they can never seem to beat, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs make their first AFC Championship game since the ’93 season. He’ll cement himself in all of Chiefs Kingdom’s hearts if he can win that one and put Kansas City in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1970.
