Chiefs Pass Rush
A significant element to this game was the return of the all-pro outside linebacker Justin Houston. Houston’s performance provided a spark to a pass rush that ranks 25th in sacks this season. Even though Houston didn’t get a sack himself, he did get one of the interceptions thrown by Rosen. Additionally, his presence on the field helped the Chiefs pass rush overall.
Chris Jones led the way for the Chiefs with two sacks. Jones has had at least one sack in each of the last six games. Furthermore, the Chiefs finished the game with five sacks overall and 13 quarterback hits.
Postgame Dee Ford was asked what type of impact did Kansas City’s pass rush have on the outcome of the game.
“A big impact and each week that’s really what we preach pressure the quarterback and mistakes happen, turnovers happen, that’s just the way we play defense,” Ford said.
With the Rams coming up next week the Chiefs will need all their stars to step up to win. Since the game has been relocated to Los Angeles, the Chiefs will now have to win on the road against the Rams.
