Back on Christmas Day, Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders stunned the Kansas City Chiefs with a 20-14 win at Arrowhead Stadium.

While it was a great evening for the Raiders, Pierce is not planning on the victory merely being a one-night affair. He has his sights set on bigger things.

During an appearance on Maxx Crosby’s “The Rush” podcast, Pierce delved into Las Vegas’ matchup with the Chiefs and thinks that the Raiders revealed the blueprint on how to beat them.

“You know what, it’s motivation,” Pierce said of Kansas City’s dominance in the AFC West. “Guess who’s the last [team] to beat them, though. Who’s the last [team] to beat the Chiefs? These dudes. They did that. So it’s okay. It’s cool. Like I told them, we’ll run it back. We’ll see them again. They’ve got to see us, we’ve got to see them. And we’ve already given the recipe of how to do it.”

After losing to Las Vegas, the Chiefs did not lose again. They won their final two regular-season games before going 4-0 in the playoffs on their way to their third Super Bowl title in five years.

While Pierce spoke about his hatred for Kansas City and seems confident that the Raiders can upstage the Chiefs and potentially end their reign of eight straight division titles, he also respects them.

“At the end of the day, you’ve got to give them their respect,” Pierce said. “They’ve done it now for seven years, man. Three out of four years they’re at the Super Bowl. To be honest, we’re striving for that.”

Las Vegas sees Kansas City twice a year, so we should all prepare for fireworks when Pierce and Co. first face off against the Chiefs in 2024.

The Raiders went 8-9 this past season, going 5-4 under Antonio Pierce. Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels midway through the year and was retained as head coach this offseason.
