In a recent hypothetical trade proposal, the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders pulled off a big trade.
It has been a disappointing start to the season for the Raiders. After starting the season off with a win against the Denver Broncos, the Raiders have lost three straight games and things aren’t going well in Sin City.
In their three losses, the defense has been an issue for the Raiders. The Bills, Steelers, and Chargers all played well against the Raiders’ defense and one of the major reasons for that is a lack of pass rush.
Chandler Jones after some erratic behavior has been let go by the team and that leaves the team lacking a pass-rusher. Recently in a hypothetical trade by Bleacher Report, they spoke about the Raiders addressing this issue by trading for Danielle Hunter of the Minnesota Vikings.
Like the Raiders, the Vikings are struggling and very well could be sellers this season. They were able to get their first win against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, but this Vikings team doesn’t look like a playoff contender.
With a potential rebuild on the horizon, they could certainly look to move a player like Hunter. Despite the Vikings struggling, Hunter has already totaled five sacks this season, as he shows that he is one of the best pass-rushers in the league this season. For the Raiders as a team, they only have seven sacks, four of which are from Maxx Crosby.
The combination of Crosby and Hunter would certainly be a good one for the Raiders. Since the team needs to find some success, especially on defense, the move does make sense.
As we get closer to the deadline, it will be interesting to monitor where the Raiders are in the standings. If they are too far gone, we could end up seeing them become sellers rather than buyers.
