The Las Vegas Raiders have made a bit of a comeback over the last couple of weeks, winning two straight games to push their record to 3-3 with a chance to get over .500 when they take on the lowly Chicago Bears next weekend.
This past Sunday, the Raiders topped the New England Patriots by a score of 21-17 for their most recent victory.
However, during the win, it became even more apparent that wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is no longer a factor in Las Vegas’ offense.
Not surprisingly, Dianna Russini of The Athletic has reported that the Raiders are trying to find a trade partner for Renfrow, who has logged just six catches on nine targets through the first six weeks.
Renfrow was not targeted at all against the Patriots.
There was a time not long ago where Renfrow was actually one of the NFL’s most prolific wide outs, as he hauled in 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns during a Pro Bowl campaign in 2021.
Last season, Renfrow’s usage declined considerably. To be fair, he was limited to just 10 games due to injuries, but when he was on the field, he wasn’t prioritized in Las Vegas’ passing game, finishing with 36 catches for 330 yards and a couple of scores.
All of that being said, Renfrow is just 27 years old and has a history of being a reliable pass-catcher, so there should certainly be some trade interest in him between now and the Oct. 31 NFL deadline.
Of course, Renfrow may no longer possess the same value he did two years ago, especially considering that he is due to earn a base salary of $11.2 million in 2024. Still, a team in need of a dependable No. 3 receiver could very well be willing to part with a mid-to-late round draft pick to acquire Renfrow.
