Raiders Trade For Cardinals’ Kyler Murray In Bold Proposal

Kyler Murray, Cardinals, Raiders

Kyler Murray is currently sidelined as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered late last season, but even one he is ready to return, whether or not the Arizona Cardinals actually move forward with him seems questionable. A team like the Las Vegas Raiders could be lurking as a potential trade suitor.

Many feel that Murray’s time with the Cardinals may very well be up and that the club could look to move him this offseason.

Could the Raiders be a team that makes a play for Murray?

The Raiders handed Jimmy Garoppolo a three-year, $72.5 million contract back in the spring, but the early returns on Garoppolo have not exactly been great. He has played five out of six games this season, and he has thrown eight interceptions.

Murray seems like a quarterback who could certainly interest Las Vegas.

The Raiders could send Garoppolo and a 2024 third-round draft pick to the Cardinals for Murray, providing Arizona with a veteran stopgap under center as it searches for a new signal-caller.

Of course, the Cardinals would probably like to get a first or second-round pick in return for Murray, but given his injury situation and the fact that he is in the middle of a $230.5 million contract, it may be hard for Arizona to extract that much value out of rival clubs in a Murray trade.

A couple of years ago, Murray appeared to be one of the top up and coming quarterbacks in the NFL, but it did not take long for the Cards to sour on Murray. Not just because of his lack of improvement, but also because his attitude wore thin on the organization.

Still, Kyler Murray is just 26 years old, so there is plenty of time for him to turn things around. Perhaps he would stand a better chance of revitalizing his career in another uniform. Maybe a Raiders uniform. A Murray to Davante Adams connection would be interesting.
