5. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a busy offseason to bolster their passing game to surround Ben Roethlisberger with more weapons. They used the NFL Draft to add Chase Claypool, the 6-4 standout out of Notre Dame. They also brought in Eric Ebron in free agency.
There is still another way the Steelers can improve their offense before they kickoff in Week 1. Adding a running back like Leonard Fournette would help provide further balance in the backfield by pairing him with the receiving threat in James Conner.
When evaluating the other backfield options for the Steelers, they could genuinely benefit from adding Fournette. The main backup role is projected to go to Benny Snell Jr. with Jaylen Samuels behind him. Neither option is on the same level of impact as Fournette.
It’s going to take quite a bit of firepower to outduel the Baltimore Ravens in AFC North rivalry matchups. Commanding respect in the ground-game is important in those efforts and a Fournette addition would certainly help to make that happen.
