3. Chicago Bears
The running back position for the Chicago Bears recently suffered a setback heading into the 2020 season. The projected starter, David Montgomery, suffered a groin injury during a recent practice and that’s troubling considering the team’s lack of depth.
The lack of depth for the Bears at running back has been interesting to see considering they’ve even tried Cordarrelle Patterson at running back in training camp. The availability of a talent like Leonard Fournette presents an opportunity to bolster the rotation.
While Montgomery isn’t expected to miss substantial time due to his groin injury, the Bears should still pursue Fournette. Chicago would be able to have a No. 1 option in the backfield and have Montgomery and Cohen fill complementary roles–improving the offense as a whole.
Having as strong of a running game as possible is important considering neither Mitchell Trubisky nor Nick Foles are going to carry an offense. Fournette would also provide another receiving option in the passing game to help take pressure off Allen Robinson.
