Lions: Why Adrian Peterson is a huge X-Factor in Week 2 vs. Packers

The Detroit Lions opened their 2020 NFL season with a rough loss against the Chicago Bears. After leading comfortably heading into the fourth quarter, the Lions allowed the Bears to score 21 unanswered points. Adrian Peterson and company could not have been more disappointed.

Despite giving up 21 unanswered points, the Lions had a chance to win the game on the final drive. Matthew Stafford made a beautiful pass to the end zone where rookie running back D’Andre Swift was open. Unfortunately, he dropped the pass and the Bears took home the win.

Now, the Lions are preparing to take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. Aaron Rodgers put on a show against the Minnesota Vikings and is aiming to do the same this week. The Lions will need to put up a lot of offensive production to keep up with the Packers.

Peterson carried the football 14 times for 93 yards against the Bears. Those numbers average out to an impressive 6.6 yards per carry. He also caught three passes for 21 yards in the game.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at why Adrian Peterson is a huge X-Factor for the Lions in this week’s game against the Packers.
