Limit Turnovers
One of the reasons why the last game between these teams was so close, was because of the two interceptions thrown by Jared Goff.
In any game, especially division games, turnovers can prove to be detrimental to a team’s success. The Rams still won the game, but made it too close for comfort against the Seahawks.
Goff, for the most part, has been very good at protecting the ball this year. Through nine games, Goff has just six interceptions (20th in the NFL).
He also has four games with no interceptions, which has been huge for a Rams offense that is continually rolling through defenses.
The Rams go into this game as 10 point favorites, but turnovers could cause the Rams to play in a closer game than they’d want to.
Turning the ball over and putting the ball in Russell Wilson‘s hands is a recipe for disaster. The Seahawks are currently tied for fifth in the NFL, with 16 takeaways this year.
Coming into this season, everyone expected this Seahawks defense to fall off after losing Kam Chancellor, Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman, etc.
That hasn’t been the case, as this defense is good at forcing turnovers. The Rams, especially Goff, will need to protect the ball against the Seahawks if they expect to win this game.
