Improve Their Run Defense
The Rams run defense looked like swiss cheese last week against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks ran it down the Rams throat, for 190 yards on 32 attempts (5.9 yards per carry). They also tacked on a score on the ground as well.
If the Rams want to solidify themselves as contenders, the run defense must improve.
So far this year, the Rams are the 18th best run defense (tied with the Indianapolis Colts). They also have allowed a whopping five yards per carry, which makes them the fourth worst in the NFL.
The Broncos boast the second best rushing offense in the NFL. The Rams will be tested early and often by the Broncos RBs.
In Denver, they have two guys who shoulder the workload. Royce Freeman is the bruising back, while Phillip Lindsay is the change of pace back.
Both have been phenomenal for the Broncos. Their defense and struggles throwing the ball are the reasons they are 2-3.
What do the Rams do to improve their run defense? Maybe they bring a safety in the box, or bring Micah Kiser in during obvious run situations.
Forcing Case Keenum to beat them is likely the Rams game plan here.
If the Rams expect to walk out with a victory on Sunday, they must improve on stopping the run.
