Los Angeles Rams: 3 Keys to Victory in Week 7 vs. 49ers

Just Keep Feeding Todd Gurley

This is as simple as it sounds. Why not continue to feed the hot hand in Todd Gurley?

There is no reason not to, as he just keeps gashing through NFL defenses. Last week alone, he rushed for 208 yards on 28 attempts and two scores.

Those two scores put him at nine rushing touchdowns on the season and eleven total touchdowns (both lead the NFL).

The last two seasons, Gurley has been the best running back in the NFL and it’s not even close. Look at these jaw dropping stats since last year.

Gurley is scoring more than nine teams in the last nine NFL weeks. NINE TEAMS.

He won Offensive Player of the Year last year, but could be in line for the MVP trophy this season. If he keeps at his current pace, he’ll have 1,661 yards rushing, 24 rushing touchdowns, 2,320 scrimmage yards and 29 scrimmage touchdowns.

The 49ers run defense has been solid this season though, allowing 98.2 yards per game and just five touchdowns. A guy like Gurley can make those stats irrelevant though, shattering a defenses dreams.

The Rams would be insane not to continue using a heavy dose of Gurley this week, as his 129 carries this year, are a huge reason why they sit at 6-0.
