Los Angeles Rams: 3 Trades That Could Be Made Before Tomorrow’s Trade Deadline

USA TODAY Sports

Trade for Bruce Irvin

With the Rams searching for edge-rushers, why not consider a player like Bruce Irvin? If the Rams decide not to get a guy like Alexander or Shane Ray, Irvin should be on the Rams radar.

All Rams fans will remember Irvin from his time with the Seattle Seahawks. With them facing the Seahawks twice a year, fans got a good glimpse of the talent Irvin possesses.

Now he suits up for the Oakland Raiders, who are another team who could continue to sell as we near the NFL trade deadline. They’ve already traded Amari Cooper, which shows they are willing to part with their top players.

Irvin is still talented in his seventh season, racking up three sacks on a struggling Raiders defense. Losing Khalil Mack has hurt Irvin, making him the guy who will receive more double-teams on this Raiders squad.

Here is Irvin splitting a double-team, getting a sack earlier this season.

Irvin wouldn’t see any double-teams on the Rams, with all of the elite players on the defense. Although Irvin has struggled this year, I believe it would benefit him being in an organization that has a win-now mentality.

He would also bring Super Bowl experience to a team who has not won a playoff game since 2004. With the Rams in dire need of an edge-rusher, trading for Irvin would vastly improve the Rams deadly pass rush.
